Set in 2001, Life Sucks is the story of Ally, Jake and Max, three preteens struggling through the most awkward phase of their lives: MIDDLE SCHOOL.
After being kicked out of their own friend groups and having nowhere else to turn, the three reluctantly come together to face puberty, popular kids, rumors, gossipy teachers and their feelings for one another in a post-millennial, pre-wireless world. Life Sucks is an absurd and heart-felt dark comedy about remembering a time in your life you wish you could forget.

“[Life Sucks is] smart, dumb, painful and broad in equal measure, and well worth watching.”
FUNNY OR DIE
"There’s nothing quite as timeless as the suckery one encounters in middle school, and this show nails it! This series...has definite echoes of Wet Hot American Summer or Freaks and Geeks.
“Not having any big names in the show might have worked against it in the mid-2010s, but it is one of the most charming things about the show. When we think of classics like Freaks and Geeks, we think of the huge stars that were in them and forget that it was Seth Rogen’s first acting role.
“For all the jocks and dreamboats who’ve roamed the halls of middle school, there are also tons of nerds and weirdos that struggle to co-exist with their more ‘popular’ classmates. Regardless of what group you fit into, the six episode comedy series Life Sucks captures all the uncomfortable memories of adolescence – but in hilarious and relatable ways.”
